๐ŸŒŸ Launching Our New House Points System at HTPS! ๐ŸŒŸ

28th Jan 2026
We are delighted to share that, as part of our refreshed Positive Behaviour Policy, HTPS is introducing a wholeโ€‘school House Points System designed to celebrate positive behaviour, strengthen our school community, and build a real sense of team spirit across all year groups.
This system was introduced to the pupils today through engaging assemblies led by Mr McGeown.

Every child in the school has now joined one of our four houses: Ulster, Munster, Leinster or Connacht. These houses bring pupils of all ages together, helping them feel part of a wider team and creating opportunities for encouragement, leadership and belonging.

How it works:
Pupils can earn house points for demonstrating the values we want to promote in HTPS — kindness, effort, teamwork, helpfulness, good manners, participation and positive behaviour throughout the school day. Any member of staff can award points, giving pupils plenty of chances to be recognised for the great things they do.

Each week, points from every year group are added together to form the overall House totals. These will be shared with pupils during assemblies and displayed in school, helping to build excitement and friendly competition. We will also be offering monthly and termly rewards to keep motivation high and celebrate the fantastic effort our pupils put in.

This system is about far more than competition — it is designed to help children feel proud of themselves, to support their classmates, and to contribute to something bigger than just their own class. We hope it will help build stronger relationships across the school and create a real buzz around positive behaviour.

We’re excited to begin this new chapter at HTPS and can’t wait to see our pupils working together, supporting one another and shining as members of their house teams.
Let’s work together to make our school the best it can be! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’š
