🌟 Primary 5 have had a fantastic first half-term! 🌟

They’ve been busy completing lots of exciting Literacy tasks through their class novel, The Worst Witch 🧙‍♀️. The children have been developing their descriptive language by creating character profiles 👤, exploring settings using their senses 👃👀👂, and writing in diary form 📖 as they learn about the features of recounts. They also used their storyboards 🎬 to animate the broomstick formation scene – a brilliant mix of creativity 🎨, imagination 💭, and teamwork 🤝!
🔢 In Numeracy, pupils have been focusing on number and place value 🔟, extending their understanding through mental maths 🧠➕ and problem-solving activities 🧩. They explored the properties of 2D and 3D shapes 🔷🔶🧊, showing their learning by sorting and comparing using Carroll and Venn diagrams 📊.
🌿 As part of their World Around Us topic, “Powerful Plants and Roots”, the children have enjoyed outdoor learning 🌳 – investigating trees 🌲, examining leaves 🍃, bark 🌰, and seeds 🌱 to identify different types, and showcasing their discoveries in a colourful Plant PowerPoint presentation 💻🌼.
