🌟 Primary 6 Term 2 Showcase 🌟

27th Feb 2026
This term in Primary 6 has been full of exciting learning and hands-on experiences. We have really enjoyed researching and learning about our new topic, Energy, and linking this learning across different areas of the curriculum.

In numeracy, pupils completed a STEM challenge where they designed and built balloon-powered cars. They measured the distance each car travelled, raced them against one another, and evaluated their designs — developing teamwork, problem-solving skills, and practical maths along the way.

We also loved taking our learning outdoors during active maths. The children explored the school grounds to find right angles, drew large shapes on the ground, and measured perimeter, making the most of the fresh air whenever the weather allowed.

In literacy, Primary 6 have been enjoying our class novel Kensuke’s Kingdom. Pupils completed a range of ICT tasks linked to the text, explored characters and themes, and discussed the pros and cons of travelling around the world, making thoughtful connections to the story.

Nurture and wellbeing has been an important focus throughout the term. Pupils have taken part in reflective activities, and some children also had the opportunity to engage in Lego Therapy, supporting communication, collaboration, and emotional wellbeing.

Finally, as the weather improved this week, we were delighted to get outside for our PE lessons, enjoying active sessions as a reward for all the hard work this term.

Well done, Primary 6⭐️
