⭐️Celebrating Our Outstanding Primary 7 AR Readers!⭐️

30th Jun 2025
We are bursting with pride as we celebrate the incredible achievements of our Primary 7 pupils on Accelerated Reader this year. Their performance has been nothing short of exceptional!
As a cohort, they have collectively read an astonishing 102,120,069 words, completed quizzes on 9,751 books, and earned a phenomenal 17,049.1 points. These figures are the highest we’ve ever seen from a year group leaving our school!
Beyond their personal reading goals, many of our Primary 7s also volunteered as Reading Buddies during their Primary 6 and Primary 7 years, mentoring and encouraging Primary 3 and 4 pupils as they began their own reading journeys. Their kindness, leadership, and enthusiasm have made a lasting impact and shown what wonderful role models they are.

To recognise their efforts, every Primary 7 pupil has received a selection of rewards, including book tokens, motivational bookmarks, inspirational book & pen sets and candy cones or sweet treat to celebrate their individual milestones. In addition to this our 36 Primary 7 Word Millionaires, received special trophy plaques to celebrate their incredible word counts.

This year, our Primary 7 Top Achiever was Alicia Rose, who individually read 8,757,257 words, quizzed on 264 books, and earned 1,368.8 points since beginning her Accelerated Reader journey in Primary 4. She even managed to set a new benchmark for total points achieved for future year groups to aspire to! In recognition of these fantastic achievements, she received the AR Top Achiever Trophy, a Word Millionaire plaque, a book token voucher, a bookmark and candy cone.

Well done everyone, we are very proud of you all!
We are also so very grateful to our families who supported our fundraising events this year—such as World Book Day Non-Uniform Day and our recent Book Fair. Your generosity ensures that we can continue to celebrate and reward our pupils in meaningful ways. It also allows us to be able to purchase a breadth of books for our pupils to enjoy.
If you or your business would like to support future reading rewards or sponsor prizes, please don’t hesitate to contact our Literacy Coordinator, Mrs Heatherington, or our Principal, Miss Devlin.

Thank you for helping us nurture a love of reading in our pupils—it’s a gift that will last a lifetime!
