Language Buddies

We are delighted to introduce Holy Trinity Primary School’s Language Buddies. This fantastic team of pupils work collectively and individually to advocate for and celebrate the variety of home languages spoken within our school community.
As part of their roles, the Language Buddies help welcome and support newcomer pupils when they first arrive. They also help all pupils and staff gain a deeper appreciation for different cultures by participating in assemblies and building displays to celebrate our languages and cultural diversity. Their efforts help create a more inclusive and enriching school environment for everyone and make Holy Trinity Primary School a place of mutual learning, respect and cultural exchange.
The Language Buddies Team will continue to strive to provide opportunities for our school community to learn, connect and celebrate our unique backgrounds and support each other in our learning journeys.
Wednesday 21st May is World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. Over the last few weeks, our Language Buddies have been busy working on their assembly and creating cultural flowers for their display. We look forward to celebrating this day with all our pupils.
Today our Language Buddies and Newcomer Pupils led a colourful assembly in recognition of World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development which we celebrated earlier this week.
They taught us about the importance of dialogue - listening and learning and not just talking.
They taught us about the importance of cultural diversity and how it enriches society.
They taught us that we achieve more when we are united and work in harmony - that together we grow. 🌟
